Back in the day, I thought of it this way:
Abstract Rules! Call it a variety thing ... it keeps on mutating, it's hard to look away. I gravitate toward the chilled sound of Abstract.
Now, I would have to say, this is just another aspect of downtempo, maybe a quirkier subset, a little more complex to scratch that itch in the brain for something engaging ... however I think of it, it's kept its grip on my imagination. In the mix playlist below, I think it was the presence of the relative glitchy Andrea Parker track and Scuba's Drowning Astronaut that qualified this set as Abstract....
